Another Attempt at Haiku

Teenagers

Needing their own space
Yet wanting warm acceptance -
Lord, help me give both.

(For those who aren't familiar with haiku poems like the one above: the first line usually has 5 syllables; the second has 7; the third has 5. In just seventeen syllables, a mental picture is created, and nothing has to rhyme! Try one for yourself!)

This is wonderful! You are a poet and I didn't know it! It says it all, doesn't it? It is simple, yet deep. YES!! I would love it if you picked a day, and posted one a week, or at least on a regular basis.

Wonderful Haiku poem, Glenda. I couldn't do that in a million years. You are very talented.

Love the picture and your words. Kids (teens) do need their space --but they also need our love.

Hugs,
Betsy

Thanks for teaching us about Haiku!
I thought I would comment in Haiku...but gave up.

Did you take the picture? You have a way with the camera...

And yes...teens a lot of space!

I enjoyed the pictures on your other posts, too. You have an eye for beauty.

I love Haiku. And you captured the essence of teenagerhood quite accurately. Such a tremendously unsettling time of life.

Good reminder to us to continue to love those who seem to not want our love.

That was wonderful. Good for you. I've never tried to write a poem of any kind since school and that was a long time ago

Did you write this poem? Very good. I still have a teen at home and appreciate the sentiment you express here.
