Go to the Rock

I go to the rock of my salvation;
I go to the stone that the builders rejected.
I run to the mountain and the mountain stands by me.
When the earth all around me is sinking sand,
On Christ the solid rock I stand.
When I need a shelter -
When I need a friend, I go to the rock.

~Lyrics - I Go to the Rock - Dottie Rambo~

Well, this rock is important enough that there are benches in front of it to sit and contemplate. What is it's significance? It almost looks like a giant geode.

Ginny, we are spending a few days in Hot Springs, and this rock sits next to one of the bubbling hot springs coming from the ground. I just thought it was such a beautiful, serene place.

Such an impressive rock, Glenda. No wonder you thought of that song! I haven't heard it for a long, long time. Now I'm singing it aloud!

On Christ the Solid Rock I stand.
All other ground is sinking sand!
