The Ball Is Not "Dead"!

Q: You know why the disciples did not like to play football with Lazarus?

A: Every time they told him the ball had been whistled "dead," he said, "No big deal!" and kept running!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Situations and circumstances in our lives may seem "dead" (and they may indeed be a "big deal" to us), but we must keep running with the ball.
Knowing that The One Who Conquered Death is running with us gives us courage to run on!
. . . let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.
Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith . . .
Hebrews 12:1-2
Dare to run in the power of His Spirit,
Called to be victors in a race already won;
Dare to run.
I love that last quote, and your picture of the football linking the race! It's true that the race has already been run for us, we need only to only keep our eyes on the ball (Jesus)!!!
Hi Glenda, FUNNY joke... I hadn't heard that one!
You should write a book of devotions... You do such a great job...
Oh, this is great! I love it! I also love that verse in Hebrews. It is one of my favorites. I think Paul must have been an athlete don't you. Or a wannabe athlete? He uses the race metaphor more than once. Great word pictures too.
Hope you're having a grand Sunday!
That is a good quote and I love the ball idea...we run with it and don't quit! Thanks to the help we have from above! Have a wonderful Sunday!
It gives me strength to read these words about not giving up and running with the ball. How comforting to know that God/Jesus runs with us!
My "challenging son" will be coming home for an indefinite amount of days and I've begun to feel anxious as the time draws near. But God will be here...with us.
