Imperfection is not synonymous with ugliness . . . nor does it imply worthlessness.
Not in God's eyes. I like the words Paul penned in II Corinthians 4, as found in The Message:

If you only look at us, you might well miss the brightness.
We carry this precious Message around in the unadorned clay pots of our ordinary lives. That's to prevent anyone from confusing God's incomparable power with us.
As it is, there's not much chance of that.
You know for yourselves that we're not much to look at.
We've been surrounded and battered by troubles, but we're not demoralized;
we're not sure what to do, but we know that God knows what to do;
we've been spiritually terrorized, but God hasn't left our side;
we've been thrown down, but we haven't broken.

Even if our pots are cracked, His light can shine through those imperfections, and His beauty can be seen in our ordinary lives.

Great post, Glenda. We all have so many imperfections. Love the 'cracked pot' comparison....

I have always had a weight problem (as an adult--after my first son was born). Because of this, people have looked at me differently... I have had to work twice as hard to 'prove' myself all through the years...

IF we would all just look 'inside' at the imperfections --we can see the beauty within....

Love this post...
Hugs,
Betsy

A georgous picture. When you think about it, almost every man of God in the bible was very imperfect. Just look at Moses and David, among others.

Wonderful post! I am so glad that God sees the beauty and not the brokeness in my life. I pray that He will help me to see that in others. Carla

A wonderful reminder. Joyce Meyers --a Christian speaker I listen to and whose devotional book I read every morning---often comments on how God chose and still chooses imperfect people to do great work, and that we must keep that in mind. It's in our imperfection that His Work shines through the best. Comforting.

I Love imperfections, finally. When younger I kinda loved perfection? Now with wisdom, imperfection is it!

This part spoke to me:

"We've been surrounded and battered by troubles, but we're not demoralized;
we're not sure what to do, but we know that God knows what to do;
we've been spiritually terrorized, but God hasn't left our side;
we've been thrown down, but we haven't broken."

My son has a court date coming in a month, for a felony he didn't commit. And he needs the Lord...yet hasn't committed his life yet. God will work all things out. So I to look at this post through this lens.

I am so comforted because I know that God "hasn't left our side" and I am not broken...because these circumstances drive me closer to the Lord and dependence on Him.
