All lined up -
arranged by size -
in a neat, predictable row.

Life is not like that.
Our days that we so carefully plan
are rearranged in the blink of an eye.

Knowing that, it pays to be flexible.
And it pays to remember that in life there is a constant:
Our Heavenly Father is in control and He is not affected by change.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father;
There is no shadow of turning with Thee.
Thou changest not; Thy compassions they fail not.
As Thou hast been Thou forever will be.
Great is Thy faithfulness;
Great is Thy faithfulness.
Morning by morning new mercies I see.
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided.
Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me.
~ lyrics by Thomas O. Chisholm~
It is hard for me to be flexible the older I get, but I keep trying!!! Yes, the blink of an eye can change everything!
He is our anchor through it all.
Ginny, it's not easy for me either! Even today, I've had to remember my own words as "my schedule" has changed several times!!
Flexible has been my middle name for the last few years! So thankful he knows the whole story.
There's nothing more beautiful than 10,000 women singing Great Is Thy Faithfulness with only keyboard accompaniment - last week-end at Women of Faith. I'll post about it soon - it was so great it's hard to know what to say.
It always takes me awhile to adjust to changes..even good ones. I'm totally glad He never changes....Wishing you and your family a happy thanksgiving. ☺☺
Glenda,
This is so true. Our best laid plans can just fly all to pieces in no time. Thank you for this wonderful reminder today. Things can change in the blink of an eye. But the good news is that God is in control.
Ahhh, flexibility--so important in living this Christ-like walk with others in our lives esp. co-workers. Lovely photo and I have always loved that hymn. Much truth esp. in the chorus.
One of my favorite hymns and I so agree with your words. Our guests today were discussing this very subject.
Hope you have a very nice week.
Yes, we can think our day didn't go well, but the "kingdom of heaven" day might have gone well. (We learned lessons, we helped someone) God sees our day so much different then we do. In His world, in the Kingdom of Heaven, it's all lined up.
