If a Cactus Can Bloom . . .

Cactus

Not the prettiest
Misshapen, covered with spines
And yet its blooms shine

This cactus, which has never grown much and really has little eye appeal, has beautiful, delicate yellow blooms. By looking at its rough appearance, who would have thought it could produce such beauty?

It's sad that society judges people, made in the image of God, by outward appearances . . . and misses so much beauty that blooms from hearts!

But not God!
He looks at the heart!
He sees the potential beauty that lies within each of us.
And when our hearts are yielded to Him, His beauty shines
through these jars of clay!
Or as writer Barbara Johnson says . . . through these cracked pots!
(I'm talking about me . . . not any of you!)

I like the kids' song that says: I am a promise . . . I am a possibility . . .
And you are, too!

What a beautiful flower! You're so right about it being a surprise coming from a cactus. I enjoyed this post!

A very good analogy that you make beautiful, as well. I love that spot of sun shining on the pretty yellow cactus flower.

Great post, Glenda... We humans do look at the OUTSIDE of others and of things, instead of the INSIDE... That is too bad --since we miss out on so much around us (whether it be people or flowers or even WEEDS). There is beauty in all things --if we take time to look.
Hugs,
Betsy

Beautiful post! I am so glad that our Father looks at the inside. My outside isn't always that great looking! Carla

I'm so glad that beauty comes forth in surprising places.

This is so appropriate, as today a group from our church is going to a men's prison facility to hear testimonies from the Christian Inmates...of what God is doing in their lives.

Isn't the flower of a cactus amazing considering the plant it springs from ...
