Someone's at the Door

Look at me. I stand at the door. I knock.
If you hear me call and open the door, I'll come right in and sit down to supper with you. Conquerors will sit alongside me at the head table, just as I, having conquered,
took the place of honor at the side of my Father.
That's my gift to the conquerors!
~Words of Jesus - Revelations 3:20 (The Message)~

Into my heart, into my heart -
Come into my heart, Lord Jesus.
Come in today, come in to stay -
Come into my heart, Lord Jesus.
~Lyrics by Henry D. Clark - 1924~

That's a beautiful post!! It sort of reminds me of a song Jeep sings, "He was there all the time", just waiting for us to open the door!

Such a grande old door---such character!
Those words are so simple, yet so hard for many to grasp.
And even once we grasp them, to keep Him there front and center in our lives.

How lovely... my first visit here. You are terrific with that camera and with linking verses to what you see. Wonderful. Thank you.

Lovely photo to go along with this verse and the old, familiar tune.

I'm glad Jesus doesn't care what our door looks like. He doesn't care if we're homeless or rich...He comes in when asked.

Beautiful picture! This kind of rusticity always captures my heart.

The words to the chorus bring back a flood of Sunday School memories. That's where I remember singing it the most.

You do find the best things to photograph! I find once again I am way behind. Believe it or not, I have never heard the elk buggling in all my years of living in Colorado.

Love the flip flop story - and of course the spiritual application. Our second trip to Hawaii, I landed in the water after slipping on the lava rocks, was soaked, dirty, and could hardly walk. We didn't want to go back up to the hills to our cottage to change, so we went to Wal-Mart, where I hobble in, Dwight brought me clothes to try on, I walked bsrefooted to find some shots, and walked out with new clothes, sandals, and my wet, dirty clothes in a bag.
