Bugs and Blooms

I love walking in the yard and looking for new signs of spring!

We have one small plum tree and it gets more beautiful every day now. The blooms are are not showy like those on the tulip tree, but I love their lacy, delicate look. While I was snapping a close-up shot, this little ladybug showed up, adding color and contrast!

The tiny little bug, the shiny new leaves unfolding, the beauty of the blossoms . . . just more reminders of a Creator who pays attention to detail . . . who faithfully ushers in each season . . . who specializes in new life!

Just think about how much He plans for and cares about the details and seasons and growth in each of our lives! I think He must find great joy when He sees us blooming where He has planted us.

Summer and winter,
Springtime and harvest,
Sun, moon and stars in their courses above -
Join in all nature in manifold witness
To thy great faithfulness,
Mercy and love.

Great is Thy faithfulness.
Great is Thy faithfulness.
Morning by morning new mercies I see.
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided;
Great is Thy faithfulness,
Lord, unto me.

"Great Is Thy Faithfulness" is one of my very favorite hymns! The pictures are great! I love the little ladybug. My house is full of them. They come in in the fall and hibernate in the window cracks. A couple of days ago when it got really warm outside, they started waking up. I opened the windows and tried to send most of them back outside. I don't have the heart to hurt them. Carla

What a wonderful and appropriate hymn to pair with these thoughts! I am singing it in my head now, a fine thing to awaken to! I don't think I've ever seen a plum tree! So far, my efforts to snap a ladybug have failed, but I will continue trying this spring. Is there really a tulip tree? But you must show me! I've never seen or heard of one! Surely it doesn't bloom tulips? Wouldn't that be amazing?
