Keep going!!

John David used these words to describe the scenery in a certain area when we were traveling back in the summer. Those words have stayed with me.

Journeying through life, we all encounter those times when it seems that we can't see God at work, and the long, monotonous road stretches out ahead of us.
We may even wonder where it's taking us and wish for a change in scenery.

But we keep going.
We keep going because we know we're where God wants us.
We keep going because He promised to go with us, and we know He keeps His promises - even when He can't feel Him.
We've learned that we can't rely on feelings and circumstances or
what we can see with our human eyes.
We keep going because we know we can't see the big picture, but we know that
each mile - each step - leads us closer to Home.
We keep going because we've traveled these long stretches of nothingness before, and looking back, we know for sure that
when it seems nothing is happening,
something IS happening.

I have decided to follow Jesus . . .
No turning back, no turning back.

The world behind me, the cross before me . . .
No turning back, no turning back.

Very good thoughts, and a good picture to illustrate them. Yes, we have to have stretches of nothingness at times, we need the ups and downs. Remember Noah on the ark? I wonder if God even said another word to him once he was in the ark, he just waited and waited. A long stretch of wet nothingness!

The picture and your words touched me. Iesp. like: "when it seems nothing is happening, something is happening." I have found that to be so true in my own life, and I've learned that often what seems like nothingless is a good surprise waiting to happen.
This is a thoughtful reminder to us all.

I love that hymn and have not thought of it in a while. My sister and I were discussing yesterday how when we look back at our lives, we see God was working behind the scenes setting everything in motion for the best outcome. Always a pleasure visiting Glenda. Have a nice weekend.

I could actually use a bit of nothingness once in awhile! Thanks so much for your encouraging words. The music is coming to me just in time. Only one song is causing real problems - I have 10 more days!

Love that song, Glenda..... "I have decided ---to follow Jesus... No turning back."

We all do have 'ordinary' times in our lives.... God is at work in us even at those times....

Love that photo... Perfect to go with your words.
Hugs,
Betsy

Our life is a journey. Very good picture and also enjoy that song. My, it's been a while since we've sung it. Thanks for bringing it to the surface again!

I love that and with what I've been feeling lately I need to print it and post it up so that I can read it each day. Thanks!

I loved the title of your blog and just had to stop by!

Delighted to meet you. Hope you don't mind if I splash around a bit to get to know you. No worries, if I make a mess I'll make sure to clean up.

We keep going because we know Him who has led us this far and holds the future in His hands.
